How a DC power system works

The rectifier-charger feeds the DC bus and keeps the battery on float charge. On mains failure, the battery, floating on the bus, takes over the load with zero transfer time. The inverter rebuilds the AC output, and a maintenance bypass lets you service the system without interrupting the loads.

Mains present: the rectifier feeds the DC bus and keeps the battery on float.

Design office and workshop

Design, manufacturing and commissioning are all done in-house. We also service power systems from other manufacturers.

The company

Charles Caumont founded CAUM.ELEC in 2001, after more than 30 years in power electronics. An electronics engineer by training, he gave the company a rigorous, quality-driven approach from day one.

Based in Meyzieu, east of Lyon, CAUM.ELEC designs systems around each customer's requirements, very often custom-built, balancing quality, efficiency and cost.

In 2026 the company passed to a new generation. The workshop, methods and know-how remain the same.
