Power electronics design
Rectifiers, choppers and inverters: we design the power stage of our equipment, from semiconductor selection to transformer and filter calculation.

Every CAUM.ELEC unit starts from a design calculation: transformer secondary voltage from the maximum rectified voltage and the semiconductor drops, filter sizing (300 Hz ripple of a three-phase bridge, capacitors and smoothing inductor), rating of thyristors, diodes or IGBTs, temperature rise and cooling.
- Thyristor rectifiers and chargers, single-phase and three-phase bridges
- Choppers and isolating DC/DC converters
- PWM inverters, 50, 60, 200 or 400 Hz output
- IGBT module power stages, SiC transistor gate drivers
- Transformer, smoothing and PFC inductor calculation
- Filtering, protection and heat dissipation

How a project runs
- Review of your specification and power budget
- Sizing, wiring diagram and quotation
- Manufacturing and wiring in our Meyzieu workshop
- Load testing before shipment
- Delivery, commissioning and maintenance
